The District last accepted applications for the position of FIRE/MEDIC November 9, 2009 through January 8, 2010.  MFPD will hire from this list until further notice.  Please check back periodically to see when applications will again be accepted.  Below you will find information from the last hiring process.

$51,044 starting annual wage
$72,001 after four years
Health insurance premium paid in full
401(a) Pension Plan paid in full, 8% of W-2 wages
$5,000 Tuition reimbursement annually for degreed courses
Certification and re-certification benefits
$1,600 Annual Perfect Attendance Bonus
8 sick leave days per year
Vacation package affords
16 consecutive days off (4 duty days) after 1 year
$200 annual Holiday pay
$72,000 Death benefit paid in full

$500 Clothing allowance per year

Applicants Must: Be EMT-P Certified by the State of Missouri. In addition, applicants not possessing St. Louis County Basic Firefighter Training Certification must be willing to successfully complete the Academy as a Priority One.

Preference will be given to those applicants with Fire/Medic experience and applicants who possess certification through the St. Louis County Fire Standards Commission.

Copies of certifications should be provided with the application.

The firefighter/paramedic test will be taken from the Essentials of Firefighting Extended Fifth Edition and from Mosby's Paramedic Textbook, Revised Third Edition. The Written Testing date will be posted on the District's website when scheduled.
