Station House #1 is located at 3241 Lemay Ferry Road at Dovedale. This engine house was built in 2006 as the beginning of the Engine House Replacement Plan. Presently, Pumper Company 1710 is staffed with three personnel and ALS Ambulance 1717 is staffed with two Paramedics all of whom are assigned to this station house. Because of this fire station's strategic location in terms of easy access to the main state highways, thoroughfares, business community and the general population density, this station answers in excess of 4,100 Fire and EMS calls per year. Mehlville Fire Protection District Station House #1 is the busiest overall of all of Mehlville's houses. This station covers an area from Reavis Barracks Road on the North to Mattis Road on the South and I-55 on the West to the Mississippi River on the East.
This Station House replaced Mehlville's first original engine house that was located in the Heart of South County at Lindbergh and Lemay Ferry. The original engine house was built in 1957 and served as the first home of Mehlville's Administration Offices. Station #1 also housed the Fire Alarm Dispatching services for the fire department and the surrounding community from 1968 to 1971.
