Station #2 was completed in April, 2009. This station is located at 5434 Telegraph Road. The new fire house was built with no tax increase and no bond issue. This station replaces the old Fire House #2, built in 1957, located at 5610 Telegraph. Mehlville's new 6,554 square foot fire house is an energy efficient building. Built with three engine bays, it was designed for future expansion if necessary. The station was built to facilitate the operational needs of the District while providing a safe and comfortable work environment for the crews. It was designed to be aesthetically pleasing to the eye and cosmetically fit well into the neighborhood.
This engine house is home to a 75 foot aerial ladder with rescue capability and staffed with firefighters and fire/medics and an ALS ambulance staffed with two paramedics. This station's site was chosen in order to respond to emergency calls at the Southeastern part of Mehlville Fire Protection District and generally serves the community of Oakville. This station is the second busiest in the District and serves an area from Telegraph and Susan on the southern end, the Mississippi River on the east, Jeffersonian on the north and Ringer Road/Burlington Northern Railroad to the west.
