 Timothy J. White
Tim White was appointed to the position of Fire Chief on April 14, 2009. White was appointed Chief after an extensive vetting process by the Board. Chief White has been with Mehlville Fire Protection District for over 23 years. Prior to his appointment as Chief, he was promoted to the position of Captain on December 10, 2008.
Chief White was employed by Ferguson Fire Department before coming to Mehlville in June, 1985. White graduated from the St. Louis County Fire Academy in 1984 with a class ranking of #1 and he was voted the "Most Outstanding Recruit" by his peers. He has Associate's Degrees in Business Administration and Fire Technology. White is also an EMT.
Chief White has been instrumental in many Public Fire and Safety Education programs at MFPD in the past. He developed and implemented the "Freddie the Fire Truck" program and was a classroom educator for the "Stop and Think" program. White has served on the Health and Safety Committee, the Retirement Committee and was a Chairman/Co-Chairman for the Annual Muscular Dystrophy program within the District.
White, follows in his father's footsteps. His father, Captain James White, retired in December, 1995 after a 33 year career with the District. White, a lifelong district resident, is married to Lynn and he has two children, Holly and Andrew.
Chief White's primary focus for the future will be to bring employees back in line with the philosophies and mission of the District while continuing to provide excellent fire and EMS service to the community. White says he wants to "empower employees and make each employee an integral part of MFPD." Chief White will assist and support the Board of Directors in again making Mehlville "the premier fire district in St. Louis County." |
